PHYSIOTHERAPY IN BRUNSSUM
Pain, stiffness, or an injury can make movement difficult. You might notice it while exercising, at work, or during daily activities. At Fysio in Balance in Brunssum, we investigate your complaints and work together towards what you want to be able to do again.
What is physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy focuses on improving movement and daily functioning. The physiotherapist investigates what you are struggling with and which factors may play a role. These include muscle strength, mobility, fitness, and the balance between what your body can handle and what you demand of it.
The treatment is tailored to your situation and goals. This may mean working on recovery after an injury, gradually building up your activities, or learning to cope with symptoms that persist for longer.
What complaints can you come to us with?
You can visit a physiotherapist for a wide range of complaints regarding muscles and joints or problems during movement, such as:
-
Back and neck complaints.
-
Shoulder, arm, and hand complaints.
-
Hip, knee, ankle, and foot complaints.
-
Sports injuries and complaints due to overuse.
-
Reduced strength, fitness, or mobility.
-
Problems with walking, climbing stairs, or other daily activities.
-
Recovery after surgery or an accident.
You do not need to know the exact cause of your symptoms beforehand. During the first appointment, we will investigate what is going on and what guidance is appropriate.
How does the first appointment go?
We start with a conversation about your symptoms and health. When did the symptoms start? Which movements or activities cause problems? And what would you like to be able to do again?
This is followed by a physical examination. We look at, for example, how you move, the mobility of your joints, and the strength of your muscles. Which tests we use depends on your symptoms.
We discuss the findings and determine a treatment plan together. You will receive an explanation of the approach and what you can do yourself. If further investigation or other care seems necessary, we will discuss this with you.
What does the treatment look like?
Treatment may consist of targeted exercises, advice, and guidance on building up activities. Sometimes we also use manual techniques to support movement.
Your own commitment plays an important role. That is why we choose exercises and advice that suit your capabilities and daily life. This way, you can also work on your goals outside of the practice.
During the treatment process, we discuss how things are going. We look at changes in your symptoms as well as what you are able to do again. Where necessary, we adjust the treatment.
An approach that suits you
The same complaint can require a different approach for different people. That is why we look at your circumstances: your work, sports, daily workload, and what is important to you.
Whether you want to walk again, work more comfortably, or resume your sport: we make your goal concrete and work towards it step by step.
